Item and User Barcodes
RSA strongly recommends purchasing item and user barcodes from ID Label. The ID Label order form for RSA libraries is linked below. All RSA libraries must use item barcodes that meet Code 39, Mod-10 specifications to work correctly in WorkFlows.

Mod-10
The Mod-10 Calculation is used to figure the check digit for user and item barcodes.
Equipment
Barcode Scanners
Metrologic MS9520 is a very inexpensive but very popular barcode scanner. This scanner was recommended by many SirsiDynix libraries on the Sirsi listservs. Barcode scanner and stand is around $135.
Another inexpensive choice is the Honeywell 1300g barcode scanner. This is also a popular choice amount SirsiDynix customers. These tend to run less than $100.
Receipt Printers
Receipt printers are not required, but RSA recommends purchasing at least one to make processing holds easier. We recommend the Epson TM-T88V or Epson TM-T88IV as an alternative. Make sure you purchase the USB version.

Also, there is a Star Micronics TSP143IIIU and Epson ReadyPrint T20 Direct Thermal Printer.
SYBA Model SY-ADA10003 3.5 ft. USB to Parallel Cable
To connect an OLD receipt printer with a parallel port to a computer that only has a USB port, you will need to use a USB to parallel converter cable. Linked below is an inexpensive converter sold on the New Egg website.

WorkFlows System Requirements
Minimum Computer Requirements:
WorkFlows is compatible with both Windows and Apple computers. Although not required, RSA recommends purchasing a computer with at least 8 GB of RAM memory. The increased memory will allow your computer to more efficiently run multiple programs at once, such as email, the internet, WorkFlows, OCLC Connexion Client, etc.
