RSA Day Committee Charge

The RSA Day Committee is made up of at least one RSA Board Member and six appointed library staff members. In addition, at least one RSA staff member will be appointed as RSA Staff Liaison. Library staff member candidates must be a Director of a member library or hold a supervisor level position. Appointed members serve two-year, staggered terms, ending on June 30. The RSA Board President shall appoint the committee Chair.

The primary purpose of the RSA Day Committee is to coordinate program planning for the annual RSA Day Training Day, with a focus on providing opportunities for front line staff to grow, learn and connect with new ideas and colleagues. The committee determines the theme, keynote speaker, location, program sessions for the event ensuring they remain within the given budgetary guidelines. The committee seeks proposals from RSA member libraries to provide well-rounded educational content for front line staff.

The Committee shall establish a schedule of regular meetings as it deems appropriate, except the Committee shall not meet less than six (6) times per calendar year. All committee meetings will be conducted in accordance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act (OMA). For OMA purposes, an in-person quorum will consist of 4 members.
