This cheat sheet provides a chart listing the required and optional item type and corresponding ItemCat 3 cataloging codes associated with various sound materials. This is to be used when thinking about adding a new format to your collection. If your library has already cataloged an item on this cheat sheet using a different item type, no problem! As long as the item is checking out and filling holds according to your library’s preferences, there is no need to change item types.
