Parameters are the codes and rules that make the RSA system work the way you want it to for your library. For example, parameters determine the codes you assign to the items you catalog, how long items can be checked out, and if other libraries’ patrons can place holds on your items.
The expanded Circ Map combines 4 things (Checkout Library, User Profile, Item Type, and Circulation Rule) to determine how a particular item checks out in your library. Symphony now allows for multiple libraries, users profiles, and item types on the same line of the circ map.
This expanded circ map will show everything you need to know how your materials circulate. Each line shows every parameter for the item types on that line and how they check out. Each line may show a single item type/user profile/library or multiple item types/user profiles/libraries; anything listed on that line will be subject to the circualtion parameters on that line.
Note: this file includes Circ Rules, Loan Periods, and Billing Structures on each line.
